Final Week At HCC

I'm a little sad to be writing this. My time here at the History Colorado Center has been so fun but felt so short. I can still remember my first day coming in! This last week has been real eventful as well. I took some more stock of artifacts here at HCC, but that's not the interesting part. We celebrated Colorado day here on August 1st, the anniversary of Colorado's founding. There was free admission, cake, a governor, but more importantly  there was a duo of performing pigs called top hogs! So Colorado day was incredibly eventful, I was out on the floor of our "Legorado" exhibit, so I got the chance to deal with a lot of sweet (and some not so sweet) kids.

Setting Up For The Governor

Some cake (which I did not get a piece of) for Colorado

Top Hogs!

It was a great event to end off the week with. I also got to present my ideas formally to the team in charge of designing the exhibit. They really took a liking to the superhero quiz concept ( If you guys want to take the prototype quiz just click here) and bouncing the idea around the group really tuned it into something great. I can't wait to visit the exhibit when it opens.

This past month has been really fun. The creative freedom I was given and the ability to watch a team manage the education of a community was amazing.  I feel like this understanding of how a community absorbs information is critical to my future in public health, and being able to work with a team top do that is a great skill to have. I am incredibly happy and grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing team here
