Week 1; Arizona Science Center
My first week of my internship at the Arizona Science center flew by too fast. It consisted of learning the basics of the building and meeting everyone within it. I spent the days going through the logistics of the science center and how each level of the building centered around a different theme and idea. It was amazing to get to know every inch of the building, including the underground area where all the brains work to help the magic upstairs run so smoothly. I was kind of embarrassed at myself at the end of the week because I never knew about the Arizona Science Center despite only living 30 minutes away. This insightful and informational science land was at the reach of my hand and I never visited. Now having spent time there and seeing all the center has to offer, I will be recommending and informing others of my new found knowledge.
My assignment for this week was to get to know the building like the back of my hand, to help me do this I went off on a scavenger hunt. This scavenger hunt was a packet that helped me find and get to know every aspect of every level of the center. As I explored the building I was met with smiles and greetings from the people that worked there. At my completion of the scavenger hunt, I realized how much behind the scenes action it took to create all the activities and exhibits that the Arizona Science Center had to offer.
